As well as organising the wedding itself we can also help you create a real weekend celebration, giving you plenty of time to spend with your friends and family. Our experienced Wedding Coordinator will be your contact through the planning of your wedding.
Each year we host more than 20 weddings in both summer and winter, so we know what it takes to ensure the planning is right. Getting the right information at the right time is so important. So we work through the planning timeline with you to ensure all your plans are covered and arranged in a timely fashion.
Each day is different at The Portage and so are our rooms. Enjoy magic views, relax in comfort and be at one with nature.
Only 15 minutes by boat from Picton, The Portage hotel’s central location makes it easy to reach for most wedding guests. There are multiple flights into Blenheim each day from all capital cities and Koromiko Airport near Picton has a regular fast service to Wellington. The float plane and Helipro will fly direct to The Portage from Wellington. Interislander and Bluebridge ferry services run daily.
Contact our Functions Co-ordinator by phone or email. She will go through your early planning and make a tentative booking for you to hold the dates you require until the next steps are completed.
Once you have discussed your plans with the Functions Co-ordinator, she will send you a quotation for your wedding and a contract for your signature. This will list all your costs and outline the conditions of the service agreement.
Once the contract is signed and the deposit is paid our Wedding Coordinator will commence organising your magical day with you.
